Applications now open for 2018 Chrissie Cotter Gallery and ArtSeat

Wednesday 2 August 2017

Inner West Council is inviting local artists to submit ideas for the exhibition of artworks at the Newtown ArtSeat and Chrissie Cotter Gallery for 2018.

Council’s award-winning ArtSeat is a permanent structure located in Newtown Square that provides local, emerging and established artists a space where experimental and non-commercial art can be showcased.

Incorporating public seating and lighting, the ArtSeat is also a landmark meeting point in Newtown.

Past art to feature at the ArtSeat has included experimental work, socio-historical exhibitions, collaborative work, font/text based artwork, poetry, photography, and new technology.

The Newtown ArtSeat is provided by Inner West Council, with support from Arts NSW and City of Sydney.

Council’s Chrissie Cotter Gallery is a free gallery space available to emerging and established inner west artists.

Exhibitions can be solo or group shows and priority is given to quality, contemporary exhibitions with thematic directions which examine issues of relevance to contemporary art and/or the local communities.

The Chrissie Cotter Gallery is located in the heart of the inner west, on Pidcock Street Camperdown.

Applications for the 2018 programs at both the Art Seat and the Chrissie Cotter Gallery close on Monday 2 October.

Go to Council’s website and click on Arts & Events, then Arts and Culture, then Opportunities for Artists:
