Little Greece community celebration

Tuesday 7 June 2022

Inner West Council will launch the Little Greece precinct in Marrickville at a community celebration on Saturday 18 June.

Media are invited to attend.

The precinct recognises the long-standing contribution of Greek Australians in the Inner West and formalises the ongoing special bond that exists between Marrickville and the Greek-Australian diaspora.

The new Hestia’s Migration public artwork was commissioned to mark the heart of Little Greece in Alex Trevallion Plaza.

The event will feature Greek music and dancing, MC Alex Lykos, Tassos Bouzouki and St Nicholas Church Greek Dancing Group.

At 2pm, a vibrant procession will make its way to The Great Club for a free all ages concert with Hellenic Art Theatre and Iho Nyx Band.

Light refreshments will be served. Under 18s are allowed provided they are accompanied by a responsible adult when entering The Great Club.
