Miranda Otto to open inaugural Inner West Film Fest

Wednesday 29 March

Critically acclaimed actress Miranda Otto, an Inner West local, will launch the inaugural Inner West Film Fest this Friday 31 March on the banks of the Cooks River at Marrickville Golf Course.

The Festival opens with a free open-air screening of the new Australian drama, Sweet As, on the first fairway at “Royal Marrickville” at 6.00PM.

“It’s an honour to have such a respected actor in Miranda Otto open the inaugural Inner West Film Fest”, said Mayor Darcy Byrne.

“This festival will celebrate the central role the Inner West plays in the Australian film industry and we intend for it to go from strength to strength in future years.”

The festival is an initiative of the Inner West Council and over three jam-packed days from 31 March to 2 April, venues across the inner west will showcase a fascinating selection of local feature film premieres and shorts from Australia and abroad.
