New General Manager for Inner West Council

Mr Peter Gainsford has been appointed as the new General Manager of Inner West Council.

Mr Gainsford is the General Manager of the City of Canada Bay. He was previously Deputy General Manager Assets and Environment at Inner West Council.

Mr Gainsford has an MBA and a Degree in Civil Engineering.

He started his career at Leichhardt Council as an apprentice in March 1983 and rose through the ranks in Corporate Services and Asset Management to became Director of Infrastructure and Service Delivery in 2003.

Mr Gainsford is committed to continuous improvement and providing quality services for the community.

“I am really looking forward to coming back to Inner West Council as General Manager,” he said.

“I am keen to work with the Councillors and staff in preparing for the new Community Strategic Plan and in helping to develop a vision with our new Council post-September.”

Mr Gainsford will commence on Monday 3 May.
