Get ready for the second Inner West Fest

Everyone’s invited to celebrate the very best of the Inner West at the second Inner West Fest - Gulgadya, Friday 14 – Sunday 23 May.

In response to COVID-19 impacts on large scale events, Inner West Council is delivering Inner West Fest, a range of community-led art, music and food events across 2021.

Gulgadya Inner West Fest will be held in various locations in Leichhardt, Haberfield, Croydon and Annandale.

As part of the program, Leichhardt Town Hall will feature projections in celebration of the local Inner West Aboriginal community, similar to Balmain Town Hall in March.

Plus there’s special shopping and dining deals, a Comedy Gala and theatre, art and dance events.

• Friday 14 – Sunday 23 May: Lighting the Town Halls, Leichhardt Town Hall, 5pm – 10pm

• Friday 14 – Sunday 23 May: Leichhardt: Open for Business, various venues. Featuring custom deals from a set price discount menu to a free glass of wine, a special discount or a limited edition from Leichhardt’s restaurants, bars, shops and other businesses

• Friday 14 – Sunday 23 May: The Fabric of Society, Italian Forum Piazza. Suspended fabric sculptures in the Forum pay tribute to 2020’s COVID-19 heroes

• Friday 14 – Sunday 23 May: See Your Suburb #YourWay, self-guided walks, runs or bike rides of 5km, 10km and 20km

• Friday 14 – Sunday 23 May: Gulgadya Geocache, GPS coordinates will lead to hidden commemorative medals. Then upload a selfie with the medal to Facebook to celebrate

• Saturday 15 May: Comedy Gala, Leichhardt Town Hall, 8pm – 11pm

• Saturday 15 May and 22 May: SF3 Smartphone & Tablet Filmmaking Workshop, Actors Centre Australia, 1pm – 4pm

• Monday 17 – 22 May: Perfect Match live painting, 76 Flood Street Leichhardt, 10am – 4pm

• Saturday 22 May: Perfect Match Community Celebration, 76 Flood Street Leichhardt, 11am – 12 midday, celebrate the new public artwork

• Saturday 22 May: You, Me and The Space In Between, Art Est. Art School, 6pm – 9pm, Innerwest Youth Theatre independent theatrical video installation

• Innov8tion - 8v8 Dance Crew Battle, Leichhardt Town Hall, 1pm – 6pm
