2019 GreenWay Art Prize winners announced

The winner of the 2019 GreenWay Open Art Prize is Eunjoo Jang who has won a prize package valued at $6,000 for her work Tuesday in Newtown (pictured).

This year a record number of entries were submitted to the tenth annual community arts event, which celebrates the precious urban green corridor in Sydney’s inner west.

Prize winners were announced at the opening night of the GreenWay Art Exhibition on Thursday, 31 October at Art Est. Art School and Gallery, Lords Road Leichhardt.

Other winners were:

• Alexandra Plim, Sydney: Work in Progress: GreenWay Local Artist Prize valued at $1,500 open to all artists living within the Inner West or City of Canterbury-Bankstown areas

• Clare Britton, A Week on the Cooks River: Cooks River Small Sculpture Prize valued at $2,000

• Gavin Buchan, Greenway Gem and Ghost Riders: GreenWay Community Photography Prize Adult totalling $1,100

• Sophia Fetting, Afternoon Light: GreenWay Community Photography Prize Youth totalling $1,100

The Derivan People’s Choice Award ($500 worth of Derivan Matisse art supplies) will be announced 19 November.
