Our Fairer Future Plan will fix the housing supply crisis in our local community, while preserving what we love about it.
A one-size-fits-all housing plan would have impacted too much on the character of the Inner West without providing enough housing.
That's why, through careful local planning and our largest ever community consultation, Inner West Council has developed a better alternative for our community.

Building Our Community
As more people choose to call the Inner West home, we are committed to building sustainable, walkable and connected communities for generations to come.
That’s why Inner West Council will invest more than $500 million over the next 15 years to deliver the infrastructure our growing community needs. This fund will be used for things like new open spaces, upgrading existing open space, active transport links and community facilities like libraries and community centres.
We want to hear from you about how this funding should be invested to help shape the future of the Inner West.
