Ways to pay your rates

Council offers different ways to pay your rates:

Pay online using Payble, a secure and easy-to-use platform to make a rates payment. You can choose to pay your rates in full or quarterly. Alternatively, bill smoothing option allows flexible payment plans that suits you.

Setting up is quick and easy:

  1. Scan the QR code on your rates notice, or click the Set Up Your Preferred Payment Option button below
  2. Enter your mobile number. You will be sent a secure SMS code number to validate your account set-up
  3. Select a payment option that works for you
  4. Select how you want to pay: credit card, debit card or set up a direct debit
  5. Receive an SMS reminder before each payment, so you can make sure there are enough funds in your account
  6. Payments will be made automatically according to the schedule of your selected payment option.

You will need a current and active mobile phone number to use the Payble service
0.75% fee applied to all credit and debit card transactions.

Learn More About Bill Smoothing 

You can pay by BPAY from a cheque or savings account (credit cards are excluded).

Contact your financial institution for details. The BPAY customer reference number and biller code are printed on your rates notice.

You can make a payment through Australia Post's Postbillpay service:

  • Online: Visit Postbillpay and follow the instructions
  • Phone: Call 13 18 16 and follow the prompts to make a payment by phone

Make sure you have your rates notice with you, as you'll need your reference details

Pay by EFTPOS, cash or cheque at one of our service centres below (all cashiers close 4:30 PM).

    Office hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm

Pay in person at any Australia Post office by EFTPOS, cash, or cheque.

You'll need your nates notice when making the payment.

Send a cheque (payable to Inner West Council) along with the tear-off slip from your rates notice to:

Register for or access your e-Notices

This form is for property owners or managing agents (i.e., real estate agents or strata managers) to change the postal address for Rates Notices and other Council correspondence. 

If you receive your notices by email or BPAYView, this change of address form will update Council’s records but will not change the delivery method currently in place for your notices.
