Rozelle to benefit from 35 free parking spaces

Tuesday, 12 June 2018

Inner West Mayor Darcy Byrne has announced that 35 free car parking spaces have now reopened at the rear of the former Balmain Leagues Club site, which will give a boost to businesses along Darling Street in Rozelle.

Mayor Darcy Byrne lobbied for several years to get the Waterloo Street car park reopened after the previous owner of the site closed needlessly.

“I’d like to thank Heworth managing director Brian Hood for agreeing to my request to reopen the car park following the previous owner's bloody minded insistence on closing the car park years ago.

“This builds on turning the parking meters off on our main streets at night and a ban on any new parking meters in the local government area.

“So I urge residents to get down and make use of the free parking and to support Rozelle businesses,” he said.
