Community-Driven ‘Customer Service on Wheels’

Thursday 14 September 2023

In a ‘Sydney-first’ move Inner West Council has launched a new mobile customer service team. The team will make daily visits to public locations like libraries, shopping centres, main streets and train stations to offer local people direct customer service assistance.

Inner West Mayor Darcy Byrne said residents can now expect seamless access to council services in their favourite community spots.

“Our new mobile customer service team will bring a fresh approach to community interaction, offering convenience and accessibility like never before,” Byrne said.

“The Council exists to serve the community and strengthening customer service is our highest priority.”

“We are determined to meet our citizens where they are and make it easy for them to ask for help or raise issues.”

The newly established mobile customer service team will be stationed at community locations throughout the week, from 9 am to 11 am.

“We know that residents want Council to be active, visible and highly responsive to any issue, no matter where or when it's raised, and that's what delivering," Philippa Scott, Deputy Mayor said.

Council has also increased the frequency of existing customer service stalls which are now being held weekly on Saturday mornings, rotating to different locations across the Inner West.

Just like the knowledgeable staff at our service centres, the mobile customer service team is equipped to assist with inquiries related to all of Council’s services.
