Celebrate BluesFest 2019

Friday, 15 March 2019

Rock legends Dragon headline Leichhardt’s popular BluesFest, Inner West Council’s free, family-friendly music event.

The relaxed and casual free outdoor twilight music concert is on Sunday, 24 March, 3pm-6pm at War Memorial Park, Leichhardt.

It is the perfect event to pack a picnic and spread out in the park while listening to some laid back tunes.

War Memorial Park is a natural amphitheatre, and has a recently upgraded playground.

Dragon has been one of Australasia's favourite rock bands for more than 40 years, with hit songs including This Time, April Sun in Cuba, Are You Old Enough?, Still in Love with You, and Rain.

On 1 July 2008, the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) recognised Dragon's iconic status when they were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

Joining Dragon at BluesFest this year are Lachy Doley, the most celebrated blues-soul-rock organ player in the world today, and rockabilly and vintage Rock n Roll band, The Stray Dogs.

BluesFest has attracted some of Australia’s most talented musicians including Diesel, Wendy Matthews, Mental as Anything and last year, the legendary Ross Wilson.
