Friday, 15 November 2019

Inner West Council is seeking to engage an artist/s to install bold contemporary public artworks at the new Marrickville Metro.

The project is an opportunity to create a public artwork in the heart of Marrickville, which is home to one of the best collections of street art in Australia.

The Inner West Council area as a whole has an impressive collection of street art in a variety of styles, and the new Marrickville Metro is a unique opportunity to add to this unique collection.

AMP Capital Investors in partnership with Council through EDGE Inner West is seeking Expressions of Interest for three high profile sites.

The combined value of public art commissions is $128,000:

• Smidmore Street ($50,000)
• Edinburgh Road ($28,000)
• Murray Street ($50,000)

Closing date for Expressions of Interest is Wednesday, 11 December 2019, 5pm

Applicants are encouraged to attend an information session which Council is holding for interested artists:

Marrickville Metro Centre Management Office (The Vicars Mill House), 34 Victoria Road, Marrickville, Thursday, 21 November, 2pm-3pm and 6pm–7pm
