Iconic Henson Park festival set to draw more than 10,000 fans

Monday 17 July 2023

Inner West Council is excited to support the ever-popular Beer Footy & Food Festival at Henson Park on Saturday 22 July.

The festival is a celebration of community and expected to draw more than 10,000 fans.

Home team favourites Newtown Jets will take on the Manly Sea Eagles in the NRL’s high-calibre second division competition.

The action on the field between two historic rugby league clubs will be electrifying and complimented by a world class selection of food and beverages for fans.

There will be more than 25 craft brewers showcasing an array of flavours and styles, while dozens of local foodies will serve up a huge range of Sydney’s hottest street food.

Adding to the spectacle, Pro Wrestling Australia will put on a not-to-be-missed show before and after the main game - a huge treat for the young and young at heart.

Throw in Bubbling With Energy’s amazing inflatable world, and the kids are in for a memorable day at this much-loved community festival.

“Henson Park is an iconic ground and it’s a natural amphitheatre and this festival has established itself as a great day,’ said Newtown Jets chief executive, Stuart McCarthy.

“The brewers are locals and it has spread by word of mouth and the festival is much more than a game of footy; it’s a family friendly event and it showcases the enormous culture of the inner west and there is something for everyone.”
