Youth Week in the Inner West

Inner West Council, in collaboration with local young people and youth services, is celebrating Youth Week with a wide variety of activities throughout the Inner West.

Schools Out Party - Youth Week Launch
Jack Shanahan Skate Park, Hercules Street, Dulwich Hill. Friday, 12 April, 2pm-6pm.
Free community event with skate and scooter competition and demonstration, basketball and other interactive recreation and leisure activities, music and photo booth. Youth are invited to take part in a survey, and prizes are included in the event.

Dulwich Hill Skate Park Leagues Competition
Jack Shanahan Skate Park, Hercules Street, Dulwich Hill. Sunday, 14 April, 11am-4pm.
Skate, scooter and BMX competitions. Free to enter with giveaways and prizes. Presented by The Skate Park Leagues. This event requires registration.

Steering Young Drivers
Leichhardt Town Hall Supper Room, 107 Norton Street, Leichhardt. Monday, 15 April, 6:30pm-8:30pm.
Steering Young Drivers helps parents and their learner drivers to safely manage the challenges of today’s Graduated Licensing Scheme (GLS) and to develop low risk driving behaviours. Young drivers must attend with a parent or guardian. This event requires registration.

Girls Day In
Balmain Town Hall, 370 Darling Street, Balmain. Tuesday, 16 April, 10:30am-2:30pm.
Council and local youth services present a day exclusive to young women aged 12-24 who live, study or frequent the Inner West. Activities include nail art, hair styling, chill-out zone and nutrition station. Free and lunch provided. This event requires registration.

Live at the Fair
Addison Road Community Centre, 142 Addison Road, Marrickville. Wednesday, 17 April, 10am-2pm.
A special Youth Week Community.A.Fair featuring an open stage for live performances with great prizes, free BBQ, pop-ups, DJ, information, groups and more. Performers are required to register.

Bubble Soccer and Outreach Event
McNeilly Park, Jersey Street. Thursday, 18 April, 12 midday-4pm.
Free bubble soccer tournament for ages 12-18 years. Includes BBQ and other activities. surround the field. This event requires registration.

Youth Week Picnic
Darrell Jackson Gardens, Smith Street and Carlton Crescent, Summer Hill. Wednesday, 24 April, 1pm-5pm.
Featuring free skate and scooter workshop and demonstrations, basketball and other and park games, plus photo booth, free BBQ and refreshments.

Sci-fi and fantasy writing workshop with Alison Tait
Ashfield Library, Level 3, 260 Liverpool Road, Ashfield. Friday, 26 April, 10am-12 midday.
Learn how to create sci-fi and fantasy worlds, full of epic adventures, reluctant heroes, and strong characters. Suitable for ages 12-18 years.
