Dawn Fraser Baths

Dawn Fraser Baths will reopen Saturday 24 January 2026

A local site inspection has identified an improvement in water quality and the Baths will reopen tomorrow, Saturday 24 January.

While the Beach Watch website reflects a green icon, pollution levels may still be present and while swimming is permitted, visitors do so at their own risk.

Water quality monitoring

Sydney Harbour Water is a natural water environment subject to variable conditions, heavy rainfall may affect water quality and may result in closure of the Baths. Water quality information is provided by the NSW Government through Sydney Harbour Beach Watch daily bulletin, which is updated daily at 6am using a traffic light-based model.

Please visit the Sydney Harbour Beach Watch website prior to your visit and search for Dawn Fraser Pool. A red icon indicates the harbour water is not suitable for swimming and the Baths will not be open.

Closure notices due to water quality are published on our website, however calling Dawn Fraser Baths before you arrive is the quickest way to check closures, as updates appear on our phone system first.

Visit our Swim at Dawn Fraser Baths page for more information about Sydney Harbour Beach Watch water quality monitoring.

If you have any questions about your visit, please email us at dfb@innerwest.nsw.gov.au.
