Inner West granted extended trading for WorldPride and Mardi Gras

Tuesday 14 February 2023

Inner West Council has successfully applied to the State Government for extended trading hours at more than forty Inner West pubs and clubs for Mardi Gras and WorldPride.

This brings the Inner West into line with the City of Sydney and Woollahra Councils who have already been granted extended trading hours for Mardi Gras and WorldPride.

The approved application extends trading to 2.00AM for more than 40 clubs and pubs within the Pride precinct extending to Marrickville, Enmore, Newtown, Stanmore, Camperdown, Annandale, St Peters and Sydenham.

Inner West Mayor, Darcy Byrne said:

“The Inner West is the beating heart and soul of Sydney’s LGBTQ community so it makes sense for our pubs and clubs to offer extended trading hours for this unique celebration.”

“With this decision, we can spread the Sydney WorldPride love beyond just Woollahra and Paddington to the vibrant streets and venues of the Inner West.”

Chair of the Pride Inner West Committee, Councillor Jess D’Arienzo said:

“Pride Inner West is a vibrant celebration of our local LGBTQ community. This is a fabulous decision and takes WorldPride to a whole new level with everyone now able to really let their hair down and celebrate locally.”
