List your online events for free

Monday 20 April 2020

Council is encouraging the Inner West community to list their online events on Council's website.

The What's On webpage is one of Council's most popular sites, with over 160,000 page visits per year.

It has now moved to a listing of exclusively online events, highlighting virtual activities that will assist the community to stay active and connected during COVID-19.

Inner West Mayor Darcy Byrne said it was important for the council to make it easier for the community to stay connected during this challenging time.

"Inner Westies are determined to look after each other through this crisis and there are a few ways we can do that.

"Following the guidelines on social distancing is essential and so is supporting each other.

"For example the arts and entertainment sectors have been smashed by the crisis and unfortunately the Federal Government has yet to announce any assistance for artists, performers and creatives," Mayor Byrne said.

Council's What's On has started highlighting virtual event listings as the number of live virtual events increase.

This includes the Biennale of Sydney, which was one of the first major art showcases to make the transition into the digital realm.

"Inner West Council is a major partner of the Biennale and their online program is now listed on our What's On," Mayor Byrne said.

"Plus Council is about to ramp up our own virtual events and activities - for example we will soon move environment workshops and Library storytimes online."

Council's What's On is at www.innerwest.nsw.gov.au/WhatsOn

All Inner West virtual events can be listed free of charge.
