The following charges apply for a replacement bin (2018/19):
NOTE: You can only replace your garbage bin with the same size bin as you currently have. If you wish to get a smaller bin (downgrade) or a larger bin (upgrade), this will change the Domestic Waste Management Charge included with your rates notice.
If your bin has been lost or stolen, contact Council online.
You will need to pay a fee to replace the lost bin. Following payment, a search is conducted in the surrounding area and on collection day. A full refund of the replacement fee will be provided should your bin be found.
If your bin has been damaged, contact Council online.
Replacement bins are provided free of charge if your bin was damaged as result of wear and tear, or damaged by Council's collection crew.
Intentionally damaged bins (e.g. bins set alight or damaged by private vehicles) will only be exchanged upon the payment of a replacement fee (see charges above) unless a police report number is provided.
You will need to pay for an additional waste service if you require an
extra garbage bin or a larger one. The additional waste charge is
$328.00 per annum (2018/19) for a supplementary 140 L red lid bin only
or $578.50 per annum (2018/19) for an additional service, which also
includes recycling and green waste bins. Please contact Council online to request an additional or larger bin.
An extra bin or a larger bin can be provided free of charge if you have too much recycling or garden waste for one bin. Please contact Council online to request an extra bin.
Requests to downsize your recycling bin incur a charge of $48.20, or
$24.60 for pensioners (2018/19). However, residents who want a smaller
bin due a medical condition or physical disability can request to
downsize their bin free of charge upon the presentation of a doctor's
