Marrickville Art Group for Seniors

All welcome at this art class for over 55s. The classes are designed for all skill levels and are led by art therapist Judy King. Judy puts great care and thought into the structure and instruction of the classes. Students are encouraged to tap into their own creativity to experience a sense of joy and empowerment through participation and creative play. Experiment with different art techniques alongside people from different backgrounds. Waitlist only currently available as at Feb 2024.

Alternating Mondays: 1:00pm to 3:00pm and 3:30pm-5:30pm (two groups)

  • When: Every second Monday from either 1-3pm or 3.30-5.30pm

Come and learn to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns in a relaxing environment. Led by the experienced artist and 'tangler' Lianne Woods.

Ethnic Women's Craft Group

  • Women from all backgrounds are invited to drop in, join the group and share and learn a craft, Tuesdays at Leichhardt MarketPlace, Community Room, 122-138 Flood St, Leichhardt. Time: 10.30am-3.30pm. The community room is located on lower ground level near the food court. From the food court, head towards the escalator - the room is located via the walkway next to the Medical Centre that runs parallel to the escalator on the lower ground.
    Come and learn a new craft like knitting and crochet or share a creative skill you have with the group. Bring along a project you are working on or make something for the group to donate to charities.
    The group has many Italian speakers but everyone is welcome here. Ask for Pina Romeo. 


Join a friendly group of diverse singers as we learn and sing together. A great variety of songs from many genres. No experience or skill required.

Haberfield Community Singers Inc.

Like to sing? Haven't sung since school? A multicultural group of seniors who enjoy friendship, singing and entertaining seniors who are confined to nursing homes/retirement villages in the Inner West.

  • Cost: $10 per 10 week term 
  • Where: Mervyn Fletcher Hall, 81 Dalhousie, Haberfield (opposite Haberfield Library)
  • When: Every Wednesday 10 to 11am excluding school holidays

Come and join the Inner West Seniors Theatre Group at 3Bridges Community Centre, Summer Hill.

Growing Older With Attitude and Gratitude - Social Connection Group 

Growing Older with Attitude and Gratitude is open to anyone over 55 years. The group meet on Mondays to discuss topics of interest around ageing and ways to get the best out of our lives, while making new social connections in a friendly and informal setting.
