Elkington Park

42 Glassop St, Balmain

Elkington Park is situated on the Balmain foreshore and has great views and lots of shaded areas to play and is our most popular park for weddings. The 1936 band rotunda is a popular feature as it provides shelter in the event of inclement weather. Additionally, the view from and the romantic history of White Horse Point at the northern edge of Elkington Park is another reason why it is popular location. It also includes the Dawn Fraser Baths, named in honour of local identity Dawn Fraser and her historic success in winning Olympic Gold. The first game of Water Polo in Australia was played at this venue and home to the Balmain Water Polo Club which was established in 1884
