Two Factor Authentication
Additional Security Measures for your Library Account.
From 18 March 2026, Inner West Libraries will introduce an extra security step called Two Factor Authentication (2FA) when you log in to your library account online.
What does this mean?
Two Factor Authentication adds an additional layer of protection to help keep your personal information safe. Each time you log in, you will be asked to verify your identity by entering a code sent to:
-
your email address, or
- your mobile phone number
Do I have to use it?
It is recommended but not compulsory. Without it, your personal information will not be as secure.
How can I opt out?
You can:
- visit your local Inner West Library, or
- call us on (02) 9392 5588 or
- untick the 2FA checkbox in your personal details page of your library account.
Please be aware that without 2FA, your account will be more vulnerable to online threats.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please call us or drop into your local library. We are here to help.
