Children's Services Works Program

Project addresses: 

• Deborah Little Early Learning Centre, 1 Macarthur Pde, Dulwich Hill

• KU Petersham Preschool, 92a Brighton Street, Petersham

Program description: 
Council’s Children’s Services operates childcare centres across the LGA. Council also manages properties run by private childcare providers. This program involves works to provide quality childcare and early learning environments for the community, keep facilities in good condition and meet safety and compliance requirements.

Current projects

Deborah Little Early Learning Centre

Description: Refurbishment of indoor spaces and roof work.
Budget: Stage 1 - $300,000 
Expected completion date: June 2023
Progress:

• DA design complete.
• QS review to be undertaken.

Stage 1

Building repair works are complete.

Stage 2 

Access upgrades: DA design developed in consultation with stakeholders is complete.

KU Kindergarten Petersham

Description:  Structural rectification and building condition works.
Budget: $563,000
Expected completion date: December 2024

Progress:

• Flood mitigation measures finalised.
• Planning pathway advice received - REF documentation being finalised.
• Detailed design commenced.
• Works expected to commence first quarter 2024.

Sustainability projects 

Council is undertaking energy efficiency projects such as solar power installation and LED lighting upgrades at a range of childcare and community buildings. These works are helping to implement Inner West Council strategies for Climate and Renewables and Pathway to a Carbon Neutral Council.  Read more here
