Spend the School Holidays at Inner West libraries

Inner West Council libraries are hosting fun and engaging workshops these school holidays, including filmmaking workshops, craft and cooking classes and other activities. Free except where indicated. Bookings essential.

Filmmaking workshops for 12-18 years:

Introduction to green screen
Exploring all the cool things to do with green screen technology.
Tuesday 5 July, 10am-1pm

Kaboom! Making explosions
Perform real life ʻminiʼ explosions in film scenes created on the day.

DIY Dystopia
Write an original script, produce a concept, and using visual effects.

Show and Tell Workshop
Attendees of the filmmaking workshops can come and see their film on screen, with feedback given by an award-winning filmmaker who will share tips and tricks.

Frozen winter accessories
Using Disney’s Frozen as inspiration, craft a crown and reindeer antlers.

For 8-12 years.

Winter Festival / ice skating (after dark)
Ice skating plus unlimited rides at the Sydney Winter Festival (St Mary's Cathedral Square), including tobogganing, giant slide, snow powder pit and giant inflatable tube dudes. Socks required. Bring dinner or money to buy dinner. Booking restrictions apply - choose only one Winter Festival activity from the Winter Holiday Program

Cheerleading
Learn the basics of cheerleading in a creative two-hour workshop.

Ten Pin Bowling
Two games of ten pin bowling at AMF North Strathfield. Bring lunch or money to buy lunch.

High Tea
Morning tea at the prestigious Tea Room in the Queen Victoria Building.

For fans of the Bard, ‘Shakespeare in the Library’ will have attendees creating characters in this unique improvisation session using classic Shakespeare props such as the skull from Hamlet.
