Resignation of Inner West Council Interim General Manager

The Interim General Manager of Inner West Council, Vanessa Chan, has announced her resignation for personal reasons effective from 1 September.

Ms Chan was appointed on an interim basis by the NSW Government in May to oversee the establishment of the Inner West Council following the merger of Ashfield, Leichhardt and Marrickville councils.

Administrator Richard Pearson paid tribute to Ms Chan's hard work and enthusiasm during the initial period of the new Council.

“A replacement Interim General Manager will be announced soon and will commence work next week,” he said.

"My aim is to ensure a quick, efficient and seamless transition to a new Interim General Manager in order that the momentum we are building in establishing our new Council can be harnessed.”

"I would like to publicly thank Ms Chan for her hard work during the first months of the new Council and wish her all the best for the future.”
