Repair café

Repair Cafés are an initiative run by The Bower in Marrickville. They provide a friendly community space where people can share knowledge and skills in repairing all kinds of items - electrical goods, clothing, furniture, bikes and more.

Inner West Council supports these events and is hosting three repair cafe webinars in November and December. Choose from:

  • Clothing Repair Cafe on Saturday 28 November, 11am to 12pm. Learn how to make simple clothing repairs, such as sewing on buttons, hemming trousers and replacing elastic.
  • Furniture Repair Cafe on Saturday 5 December, 11am to 12pm. Learn how to disassemble and re-glue a wobbly chair, and repair stains, scratches and dents in the surface of furniture.
  • Electronics Repair Cafe on Saturday 12 December, 11am to 12pm. Learn the basics of electrical theory and how to dismantle items, identify common problems and make simple fixes.
