Jeffrey Samuels

Jeffrey Samuels is a contemporary Aboriginal Australian Artist. Jeffrey is 66 years old and a gay artist. He is a founding member of Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Co-operative. His work is held in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Gallery of NSW, the Australian Museum, and the National Museum of Australia. In 2000 Jeffrey was commissioned to recreate a painting for the Nature Segment of the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games. Jeffrey designed the NSW State Logo 'Waratah'. Jeffrey is a printer, painter, drawer and mixed media artist.

"I would like to be one Australian Artist assisting to change Australia's current constitution - "To have Aboriginal peoples to be enshrined in the Australian constitution".

Current work

Jeffrey is currently working towards a solo retrospective of his work which will be presented at Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Co-operative in November 2023.
