Exhibition Statement

‘Tabby Cat Eating Cake’ is a playful exhibition of artworks by Members from Studio ARTES, presented at Chrissie Cotter Gallery in Camperdown. Responding to the strong interest Members have expressed in working with ceramics, the exhibition marks the studio’s first exploration into the medium, with a group of Members from both Inner West and Hornsby studios experimenting with underglaze on pre-bisqued dinner plates. Exhibited alongside these unique ceramic works are large-scale paintings inspired by a shared love of food, created in response to the prompt of the dinner plates. The exhibition is a celebration of creativity, skill-building and the studio's strong focus on person-centred programming.
