Spring photo call out

To celebrate biodiversity month in September we are calling all Inner West nature photographers to tag and share native plant and animal photos on Instagram instagram-icon-black during Spring 2019!

We have an insect hotel, a Birdscaping your backyard book and nursery vouchers up for grabs.

Everyone can take part but only Inner West residents are eligible for prizes. 

How to enter

All you need to do is:

  • 1. Post your amazing Inner West nature photos to your Instagram instagram-icon-black account during Spring 2019
  • 2. Tag your photo #innerwestwildlife and #iwccomp

Terms and conditions

1. Eligibility

1.1  The competition is open to people (18 years +) living and or working in the Inner West local government area. Winning entrants will need to provide proof of residency. 
1.2. Pictures should feature animals, plants and natural areas in the Inner West local government area.
1.3 Employees of Inner West Council will be able to participate but are not eligible to gain any prizes.

2. Entry Period

The competition will run from 1 September to 30 November.
Only photos posted during this period with the hashtag  #innerwestwildlife and #iwccomp will be eligible to win.

3. Categories 

The categories are native animals or plants in:

  • Your backyard and neighbourhood
  • Waterways
  • Bushland

4. Prizes

Prizes include:

  • An insect hotel the valued at $70
  • A Birdscaping your backyard book valued at $50
  •  Nursery vouchers valued at $10 each

Prizes will be awarded on 2 December. Winners will be notified by Inner West Council on Instagram via direct message in the first week of December.

5. Use of work

Council will repost the winning photos on its Instagram feed and credit the photographer.

All winning photos will be posted on Council's website and Facebook page.
