Opportunities for young people aged 12-24 years to gain skills, knowledge and qualifications to assist them to gain employment, continue with further education and/or improve their life skills.

Previous courses and programs have included:

  • Road safety
  • First Aid
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
  • Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG)
  • Barista courses

The Boost program is open to course content suggestions. If your school, community organisation or service provider has an idea for a skill-developing course for young people please let us know. We will happily tailor the program to meet your needs.

 


Body Positive - Pamper Day

  • Date: Tuesday 9th October  9:00am – 1:00pm
  • Ages 12–18 years
  • Cost: Free
  • Venue:  Ashfield Service Centre
    • 260 Liverpool Rd, Ashfield NSW 2131
    • Activity room 1

This workshop will teach practical life skills, beauty tips and a deep sense of self and value. Includes a fully catered lunch.

Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

  • Date: Tuesday 20 November 10:00am – 4:00pm
  • Ages 16–24 years
  • Cost: $50
  • Venue:  Leichhardt Town Hall - Supper Room

      Corner of Marion and, Norton St, Leichhardt NSW 2040

Participants receive a NSW RSA Photo Competency Card approved by the NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming & Racing. Bring a pen, note pad and photo ID. Lunch provided. 

Responsible Conduct of Gaming (RCG)

  • Date: Tuesday 15 January 10:00am – 4:30pm
  • Ages 16–24 years
  • Cost: $50
  • Venue:  Leichhardt Town Hall - Supper Room

Participants receive a NSW RCG Photo Competency Card approved by the NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming & Racing. Bring a pen, note pad and photo ID. Lunch provided.

Registration, Consent and Further Information

  • Registrations essential and conditions, limits and fees apply
  • Parents/guardians (under 18 years) must complete the registration and consent form provided to register, select activities and provide consent for their child
  • Once Council receives your registration and consent form, you will receive an email (within 1 business day, where possible) to advise whether your registration has been successful or whether you have been waitlisted
  • Information regarding payments and concessions is included in this email
  • All Boost Program workshops are supervised by Inner West Council Council staff (Youth Workers)
  • Participants are not permitted to leave a Boost Program activity until the completion of the workshop unless consent outlining alternative arrangements is provided in writing by a parent/guardian
  • The information collected in the Boost Program registration and consent form is for Council use only. Council uses this information for the purpose of delivering and managing the Boost Program. This information is stored in a secure electronic record management system

  • No shows and/or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, incur a fee (the full cost of the activity)
  • Cancellations with more than 24 hours notice do not incur a fee. Where a payment has been made, the payment is transferrable to another workshop/person.
