Note from the Director

“Relationships are at the heart of what we do”

Our learning environments provide children with a beautiful space to be; a space that inspires wonder, creativity and delight.

In our home-like preschool surrounded by nature, children interact with one another, their families and educators; forming relationships, building social competence and together with their peers, developing learning skills, understandings, positive values and knowledge.

Globe Wilkins educators believe that learning occurs between and within cultures, environments, educators, children, families and communities. We understand that there are many ways of teaching and learning, and thus our teaching philosophy is holistic, organic and responsive. At Globe, educators provide endless opportunities for creativity, imagination and the development of knowledge, understandings and connection with others.

Our learning environment is intentionally designed to be a safe, welcoming and inspirational learning space. This includes our dining room, the construction room, arts studio, the outdoor garden and the ‘Wilkins Green’ community garden. Our pedagogy comes to life through the interactions, relationships and understandings that occur within this environment.

Children engage in a day that offers a balance of child led play and teacher facilitated experiences. A child navigated learning program operates alongside a routine that offers opportunities for small group teacher led experiences and learning investigations, which links to principles, practices and learning outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework.

This relaxed, child navigated environment, along with scaffolded pedagogy, supports children to 'Belong, Be and Become.'
