May Murray Early Learning Centre

Note from the Coordinator

Situated in close proximity to the Cooks river -The River of Goolay’yari- May Murray Early Learning centre is a service that embraces its local community, encourages children to be active participants in their own community and engages in learning in all its formats.

As educators we are guided by the Early Years Learning framework (E.Y.L F) and use this as our framework for providing and implementing a professional and quality program that meets the needs of each individual child. Educators strive to create a place where children and families are welcomed, where children feel safe and secure and where relationships are formed and nurtured.

We are strong advocates of children connecting to the natural environment and take pride on our outdoor learning space on The Cooks River. It is here that children are exposed to play in all climates, where they are encouraged to explore and connect with the natural world and where they are supported in identifying risks and making appropriate and intelligent decisions about their own safety and wellbeing.

At the May Murray Early Learning Centre, we believe children are active agents in their own learning and our role as educators is to: listen, engage, stimulate, nurture, interact, empower, trust, respect, advocate, cooperate and challenge the children who share their time with us each day.
