Bairro Português - Petersham Festival celebrates the Portuguese cultural history of Petersham with the very best of Portuguese culture with entertainment, music, dance, cultural activities, and traditional and contemporary foods. With licensed bars serving wines, beer and sangria, the invitation is open to for all to celebrate Petersham's history and residents.
The streets of Petersham will be bursting with energy and the tantalising aromas of Portuguese cuisine.

Fado in Australia

Fado in Australia is a Sydney-based Portuguese band formed 15 years ago thanks to the passion of Portuguese immigrants who incredibly missed their native musical roots and who decided to bring it back to the Australian Portuguese community. Theirs is a unique Iberian musical melting pot, blending elements from Moorish, African, and Brazilian, performing traditional Fado styles ranging from the classics to now!

Aldeias de Portugal - Portuguese Folkloric Dancing Group

Aldeias de Portugal is the oldest Portuguese Folkloric dance group in Australia and was established in 1976. Aldeias de Portugal will perform dances from all regions of Portugal, including the islands of Madeira and Azores.

With their beautiful melodies, captivating grooves and stunning improvisations Alma Orchestra never fails to move listeners with their irresistible music. This spectacular ensemble features Sydney’s stunning songstress & violinist Mandie Vieira, dynamic saxophonist, flautist & clarinetist Loretta Palmeiro, and their stellar rhythm section comprising of world-music specialists guitarist Jeremy Sawkins, bassist Hannah James and drummer Michael Quigley.

Celebrating its 15th Anniversary this month the Portuguese Group of Concertinas will be perfoming a variety of traditional portuguese songs as well as some originals that have been composed by the members of this group.

Sydney Choro Club

Sydney Choro Club is a music ensemble who proposes to pay tribute playing the hits of the first Brazilian music genre, the CHORO, rescuing its tradition and powerful grooves. Sydney Choro Club was founded in a sunny afternoon in the spring of 2017 by Douglas Aguiar, multi-instrumentalist and cultural developer.
