Community Festive Activities

Inner West Council is offering grants of up to $500 to assist local community groups to celebrate the festive season. Council is supporting end of year celebrations events that engage local residents and enhance community spirit and encourage participation across the community.

The Community Festive Grants are provided to support community groups and not-for-profit organisations to present free, inclusive events and activities, such as:

  • Local community carols events located in community halls or local facilities
  • Non-denominational events that encourage community participation in festive celebrations and/or activities

The activity must occur between Thursday 1 December and Sunday 25 December 2024. 

Activity Eligibility

Eligible activities must demonstrate that the event:
• Brings the community together to celebrate the festive season
• Has outcomes that are delivered in the Inner West Council Local Government Area
• Is open to the public and has no entry or participation fee or charge (including gold coin donations or entry fee).

Activity Ineligibility

Applications are ineligible if the request for support;
• Is commercial or has the potential to make significant profit,
• is part of ongoing administration or operational costs of the applicant,
• in the case of registered schools and training organisations, includes costs associated with the employment of teaching or support staff and / or delivery of curriculum.
• Is in support of a private event such as a work Christmas party or is closed to the public.

Who Can Apply
Applicants must be a not–for–profit organisation such as an:
• Incorporated association
• Registered charity
• Registered school or training organisation
• Unincorporated group who are auspiced by a not-for-profit organisation

Applicants must have current Public Liability Insurance to a minimum of $20m

Applicants must not be
• Current employees or staff contracted to Council
• A person appointed to a role within Council
• Individuals or Sole Traders
• Federal, state or local government agencies
• Political Parties
