Women's recreation activities

Increasing physical activity levels for women is important for overall health and mental wellbeing.

Inner West Council  wants to remove the barriers preventing more female participation in physical activities by delivering recreation programs for women.

Belly dance classes

Calling all women in the community!

Come along and enjoy a free belly dance class at the Refugee Welcome Centre at Callan Park. Running each Friday throughout the school term, this class is a great way to have fun and meet refugee women and other women in the community.

Inner West Council is proudly partnered with Reclink to provide these free classes.

Cost: Free

When: Fridays at 12:30pm (excluding school holidays)

Where: Refugee Welcome Centre at Callan Park, Wharf Road, Lilyfield


Mums get active

Come and join this quick, fun, free class for mums so you can connect with other mums and get active where prams are welcome.

Val is a Personal Trainer with years of experience and also a qualified pilates instructor. These classes will not only help you get your body back they will also assist with strengthening your pelvic floor.

Inner West Council are proudly partnered with Reclink to provide these free classes.

Cost: Free

When: Every Thursday at 2pm, classes run for 45 minutes

Where: Tom Foster Community Centre, 11-13 Darley Street, Newtown


Parents with prams

The Parents with Prams walking group at Lilyfield on Mondays where they meet in front of Le Montage Café and walk the Bay.

It’s a great way to meet other parents, get active and let your new bundle of joy enjoy the delights of the outdoors.

There will be more Parents with Prams walks commencing in other areas of the Inner West with a Cooks River Walk next on the list for Wednesdays where it will meet up with Council’s ‘Magic Yellow Bus’.

Cost: Free

When: Every Monday at 10am

Where: The Bay Run, meet outside Le Montage Café, 28 Frazer Street, Lilyfield
