Women's recreation activities

Increasing physical activity levels for women is important for overall health and mental wellbeing.

Inner West Council  wants to remove the barriers preventing more female participation in physical activities by delivering recreation programs for women.

Belly dance classes

Calling all women in the community!

Come along and enjoy a free belly dance class at the Refugee Welcome Centre at Callan Park. Running each Friday throughout the school term, this class is a great way to have fun and meet refugee women and other women in the community.

Inner West Council is proudly partnered with Reclink to provide these free classes.

Cost: Free

When: Fridays at 12:30pm (excluding school holidays)

Where: Refugee Welcome Centre at Callan Park, Wharf Road, Lilyfield

 

Mums get active

Come and join this quick, fun, free class for mums so you can connect with other mums and get active where prams are welcome.

Val is a Personal Trainer with years of experience and also a qualified pilates instructor. These classes will not only help you get your body back they will also assist with strengthening your pelvic floor.

Inner West Council are proudly partnered with Reclink to provide these free classes.

Cost: Free

When: Every Thursday at 2pm, classes run for 45 minutes

Where: Tom Foster Community Centre, 11-13 Darley Street, Newtown

 

Mums Get Active is now running in a new location! Join local parents at the new Marrickville location to get fit, have fun and connect with local parents.

Cost: $20 one off annual* PCYC membership fee, subsequent classes are free

When: Every Tuesday at 2pm, classes run for 45 minutes

Where: Debbie and Abbey Borgia Recreation Centre, 531 Illawarra Road, Marrickville

*PCYC membership fee is for one year from the date of purchase. Contact PCYC Reception on 02 9559 7722 or visit the PCYC website for more information.

 

Parents with prams

The Parents with Prams walking group at Lilyfield runs on Mondays where they meet in front of Le Montage Café and walk the Bay.

It’s a great way to meet other parents, get active and let your new bundle of joy enjoy the delights of the outdoors.

Cost: Free

When: Every Monday at 9:30am

Where: The Bay Run, meet outside Le Montage Café, 28 Frazer Street, Lilyfield

Parents with prams is now on in a new location!

The new Parents with Prams walking group has started in Marrickville where they meet at Steel Park waterplay park and walk the Cooks River.

Cost: Free

When: Every Wednesday and Friday at 10am

Where: The Cooks River, meet at Steel Park waterplay park, Illawarra Road, Marrickville
