Council provides a range of recreation programs for parents to connect and get fit.     

Mums Get Active

Come and join our quick, free, fun classes for mums so you can connect with other mums and get active where prams are welcome.

Mums Get Active classes are delivered by qualified, experienced postnatal Pilates instructors who will ensure you train safely after childbirth.

Postnatal Pilates is an excellent choice of exercise as it will strengthen your back and pelvic floor and also repair your abdominal muscles.

Mums Get Active Jimmy Little Community Centre

Cost: Free

When: Every Wednesday at 1pm, classes run for 45 minutes

Where: Jimmy Little Community Centre, 19 Cecily Street, Lilyfield

Mums Get Active Debbie and Abbey Borgia Centre (PCYC)

Cost: $20 one off annual* PCYC membership fee, subsequent classes are free

When: Every Tuesday at 1pm, classes run for 45 minutes

Where: Debbie and Abbey Borgia Recreation Centre, 531 Illawarra Road, Marrickville

Cost: Free

When: Every Thursday at 1:00pm, classes run for 45 minutes

Where: Darrell Jackson Gardens, 91 Carlton Cres, Summer Hill

Women's Dance Fit

Have fun and meet other women in the community at these classes for women only.

Cost: Free

When: Saturdays 8:30am to 9:30am

Where: Refugee Welcome Centre, Callan Park, Balmain Road, Lilyfield

Council supports some community events that may be suitable, such as:

GreenWay park run

GreenWay park run is a free 5km timed run - it's you against the clock. Participants run for their own enjoyment so you can join in whatever your pace!

It doesn't cost anything to join but please register before your first run. You only need to register once and this will give you a barcode that you need to bring on the run. This barcode will give you a time for your run so you can track your progress and set goals for yourself.
