London and Simmons St, Enmore - Trial street plazas

Inner West Council will soon temporarily pedestrianise sections of London and Simmons Streets in Enmore, transforming them into vibrant street plazas from December 2025.

This exciting six-month trial is part of Council's main Street Revitalisation program, which aims to reimagine both London and Simmons Streets and transform them into spaces where the community can sit, chat and enjoy local businesses.

The trial street plazas will include:

  • Street furniture, large plantings, and artificial turf on London Street to create a relaxed, green atmosphere.
  • An extended outdoor pedestrian and seating area that will be surrounded by pots and plantings adjacent to the Duke of Enmore Hotel in Simmons Street.
  • Creation of a southbound one-way cycle lane down Simmons Street.

As part of the trial, London Street will be temporarily closed at Enmore Road. Simmons Street will also operate as a one-way road.
