Darrell Jackson Gardens Upgrade

Darrell Jackson Gardens is a popular park of local heritage significance on Carlton Crescent, Ashfield. The upgrade includes the replacement of all existing equipment within the unfenced playground, along with necessary changes to cater to a wider range of ages and abilities.

Key elements of the new playground design include:

  • In-ground trampolines
  • An obstacle course and climbing structure
  • Nest swing
  • Nature play elements
  • New plants and landscaping
  • A new sunshade

As well as the new playground, Council is also embarking on additional upgrades including:

  • An upgrade of the tennis courts featuring new nets, posts and surfacing
  • A new BBQ area with shade, seating and tables
  • New seating within the park
  • New pathways
  • A new entrance to Carlton Crescent into the park
  • Relocation of the existing timber pergola to the new entrance
  • A new junior cricket wicket
  • Landscaped drainage improvements
