Midjuburi Youth Resource Centre

Midjuburi Youth Resource Centre (MYRC) is one of our ongoing successful partnerships.  

MYRC is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) offering a variety of services for young people aged 12 to 24, including: Recreation Afternoon, School Holiday Program, Computer Room, Links To Learning, Music Studio, Youthblock counselling and GP services and short-term projects such as film or dance workshops.  They also have youth workers to assist and refer young people to appropriate specialist services if necessary. 

Benefits to our community

The MYRC provides:

  • a place for young people to talk to qualified people about a range of issues that may be of help to them including finding a place to stay, finding employment, signing up with myGov, relationship and school support and goal setting.
  • interesting and relevant courses for young people transitioning between schools or looking for work/experience.
  • a place for young people to hang out, meet new people, while doing a variety of activities including basketball, ping pong, pool, board games.
  • a place for young people to study with free access to computers and internet.
