Inner West Council’s public art program, Perfect Match, is back bigger and better than ever in 2017.

From its first year, when eight property owners and 33 artists registered to be ‘matched’, this year 52 property owners and 70 artists from across the inner west of Sydney applied to be part of Perfect Match 2017.

The lucky 16 property owners and artists selected for the 2017 program will officially unveil their works during a weekend of free neighbourhood celebrations, talks, tours and more. Everyone’s invited to celebrate by taking a free street art tour:

Self-guided art on the streets tour

Download the Perfect Match 2017 map and program  (PDF 6.3MB) to meet artists working at Perfect Match sites across the inner west. Plus, visit some of the best existing street art across the inner west.

Wall2Wall bus tour

Friday 4 August, 2–4pm

  • Location: Meet at Leichhardt Town Hall, corner Norton and Marion Streets, Leichhardt

As the  Wall2Wall  mural competition heads into its 11th year, join a free tour exploring artworks across Leichhardt, Balmain, Lilyfield, Annandale and Camperdown. Each year Wall2Wall adds another series of award winning murals, adding quality site specific murals to the local cultural landscape.

Starting with a visit to an iconic, politically motivated mural of the 1980s (The Crescent Mural in Annandale) to murals that identify artists as individuals with their own signature style. Explore the diverse range of creativity expressed through street art in public space and gain a deeper understanding of the way the artworks add to the cultural heritage of the inner west.

Perfect Match bicycle tours

Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 August, 12 – 3pm

  • Location: Meet at Newtown ArtSeat, corner Australia Street and King Street, Newtown

Enjoy a guided tour on wheels hosted by Gilbert Grace of ARTcycle Inc. Learn about the inner west’s amazing street art collection.

Join Melinda Vassallo, author of Street Art of the Inner West on a guided tour. Learn about street art, tour Chrissie Cotter Gallery and artist studios. Meet the creatives behind the upgraded Camperdown Park and Camperdown Commons.

'The Cultural Express' train tour with Culture Scouts

Saturday 5 August, 2pm4pm

Join a whistle stop train journey tour of the inner west. Discover the richness of street art at stops along the way. Learn about the Ashfield Town Centre upgrade, enormous new street artworks and finish with yummy dumplings in Ashfield.

Perfect Match photography tours with The Aperture Club

Sunday 6 August, 11am2pm
