Classics at Callan Park

Classics at Callan Park’ returns this month as a part of Inner West Council’s Sunset Series.

Classics at Callan Park is a biennial free outdoor concert set in the picturesque grounds of The Sydney College of the Arts, this year featuring music from The Metropolitan Orchestra – Chamber Players and Leichhardt Espresso Chorus – Ristretto Chamber Choir.

The dramatic sandstone setting of Sydney College of the Arts provides a backdrop to magnificent classical music and stunning soloists as the sun sets on an autumn evening.

The evening commences at 4pm with the Metropolitan Orchestra String Quintet. The event also features performances by Leichhardt Espresso Chorus - Ristretto Chamber Choir.

This free event is for all ages. Everyone is encouraged to picnic with family and friends for a night of beautiful music, in beautiful surrounds, under the stars.

A coffee cart will be available but everyone is encouraged to bring a picnic.

A shuttle bus service will run from Balmain Road entry of Callan Park to the event site from 3:30pm for the duration of the event until conclusion at 7pm.

5:30pm - 6:15pm - The Metropolitan Orchestra - Chamber Players. Soloists: Andrew Doyle (Basset Clarinet), Svetlana Yaroslavskaya (Flute), Matthew Bubb (Oboe)
6:30pm - 7:00pm - The Metropolitan Orchestra - Chamber Players & Leichhardt Espresso Chorus - Ristretto Chamber Choir. Conductor: Sarah-Grace Williams
