Upcoming Author Talks at Ashfield

Get ready for another great line up of Author talks at Ashfield. The ever popular series is set to take you on a journey from stories of Australians in the Second World War to the American Presidential Election, to finding sanity and an illustrated lecture of the moon.

Monday September 19 11am Level 6 Council Chambers Tony Hill, ABC 24 editor and journalist, with his new book Voices from the air : The ABC war correspondents who told the stories of Australians in the Second World War. Book for sale and signing Better Read Than Dead Newtown

Wednesday October 5 6.00pm for 6.30pm start Level 6 Council Chambers Tom Switzer from the US Studies Centre will give a lecture on the 2016 American Presidential Election, November 8 2016. Saturday October 15 11am Local Studies Room Level 2 Walter Mason will give an illustrated lecture Arthur Conan Doyle, Spiritualist- Fairies, ectoplasm and voices from beyond the grave in Conan Doyle’s final years.

Monday October 17 11am Level 6 Council Chambers Joanna Penglase illustrated lecture - Shock! Horror! Scandal! What the Victorians Really Liked to Read.

Tuesday October 18 11am Level 6 Council Chambers Natalie Seiz, Curator at the Art Gallery of NSW will give an illustrated lecture on the Gallery’s current exhibition from its own collection of the full series of One Hundred aspects of the moon by the famous Japanese artist Tsukioka Yoshitoshi (1839-1892).
