New Inner West Sporting Facilities Ready for Spring

Just in time for the Spring school holidays and summer sport, Council has recently unveiled a raft of sporting facility upgrades across the Inner West.

Easton Park has recently welcomed two cricket nets as well as a basketball pad and netball hoop at one end of the picturesque sporting ground in Rozelle.

The project followed consultations with the wider Easton Park community including local residents who live opposite the park as well as the Balmain South Sydney Cricket Club.

Council has also developed new cricket nets recently at Annandale’s Cohen Park and at Lilyfield’s Blackmore Park.

Just as timely for the warmer weather, Camperdown Park has added two outdoor table tennis tables as well as a new netball hoop practice facility.

Both complement the existing range of facilities in this Camperdown sporting precinct that already includes tennis and basketball courts beside the historic Oval that is itself undergoing a major Council upgrade.

The new recreation hubs at Camperdown and Rozelle have already been proving a hit for casual sporting activity for residents of all ages and follow community consultation in the planning process.

Resident consultation also led to Council installing a full size outdoor basketball court at Ashfield’s Bill Peters Reserve that already features tennis facilities.

Council has also delivered recent improvements to the existing basketball court at Croydon’s Centenary Park including resheeting and line marking as well as new floodlights to cover the sporting ground’s two football pitches with a new amenities block to follow shortly.
