Improving traffic safety along Meeks Road between Braddock Playground and Victoria Road, Marrickville

Council has received concerns about traffic safety along the southern end of Meeks Street when vehicles park adjacent to the railway corridor.  This section of Meeks Road is narrow (approximately 6m wide), especially with parked vehicles on both sides of the road and is causing a danger to cyclists and traffic.

Therefore, Council proposes to install a yellow No Stopping line along the southern side of Meeks Road between Braddock Playground and Victoria Road with associated No Stopping signage at the eastern and western ends of Meeks Road.

Please note that under the NSW Road Rules, a driver must not stop at the side of a road marked with a continuous yellow edge line.

You are invited to provide feedback online via the Your Say Inner West website or mail your feedback to Inner West Council, PO Box 14, Petersham, 2049 (please use the reference “Meeks – No Stopping zone” when submitting your feedback).

Feedback closes on Friday, 26 May 2023.

A report, including feedback from the community, will be considered by Council’s Local Traffic Committee. The Committee’s recommendations will then be considered by Council where a decision will be made.

If you need any further information, please contact Council's Traffic and Parking Services Engineer, John Stephens on 9392 5449 during normal office hours.
