The Bower rehoming service and repair café

The Bower rehoming service

Are your unwanted household items too good for the tip? Your trash could be someone else's treasure.

Visit The Bower Collection and Rehoming Service for reuse and rehoming options for items that are still in good condition.

Use the new Reuse Tool to find organisations who can rehome  items The Bower  can’t accept. Or why not donate to a charity or try an online swap or sell site.

Visit their centre at Addison Road Community Centre, Building 34, 142 Addison Road, Marrickville.

Repair café

Repair cafés are an initiative run by The Bower in Marrickville. They provide a friendly community space where people can share knowledge and skills in repairing all kinds of items - electrical goods, clothing, furniture, bikes and more.

Inner West Council supports these events and hosted three repair café webinars in November and December 2020. We are planning more in 2021.

Previous webinars

Clothing repair café

In November 2020, Inner West Council's Green Living Centre hosted a clothing repair webinar with Katie and Heidi from the Bower.

Furniture repair café

In December 2020, the Green Living Centre hosted a webinar on furniture repair with Annette and Yulia from The Bower.

Electronics repair café

In December 2020, the Green Living Centre hosted a webinar on electronics repair with Griffin from The Bower.

These webinars were a joint initiative between Council's Resource Recovery Planning team and the Green Living Centre.
