Aged services committees

The Healthy Ageing programs Supervisor attends and/or convenes several committees.

Seniors Working group

The  Seniors Working Group is one of Councils committees represented by people who live in the inner west with a genuine interest in ensuring the voices of older residents are heard.

The Working Group meets at least four times per year. The purpose of the committee is to:

  • provide input into the development and implementation of programs and services that ensure equity of access for seniors and that are part of Council's Ageing Strategy and Action plan
  • advocate on behalf of seniors and ensure the voices of seniors are heard in Council's decision-making
  • advise, share relevant information on a changing demographic and support innovative opportunities to ensure the wellbeing of seniors
  • work with Council's Healthy Ageing Team to support the delivery of initiatives such as Seniors' Festival, Dementia Awareness and other activities and projects.

For more information, visit Councils Local Democracy Groups page on this website or contact Mark Jones, Acting Healthy Ageing Program Supervisor by phoning (02) 9392 5844 or via email seniors@innerwest.nsw.gov.au

Convened by Newtown Neighbourhood Centre. To register for information about this group and meetings contact: iwagedinteragency@outlook.com
