About Clean Up Australia

Clean Up Australia Day was founded by Ian Kiernan. It has been running for thirty years and is one of the country's largest community-based environmental events. The day aims to inspire and empower communities to clean up, fix up and conserve our environment.

Step Up to Clean Up!

It's time to get involved in Australia’s largest community-based environmental event, Clean Up Australia Day.

Creating a Clean Up is a fantastic way to make a difference for our environment.

So, grab your friends, co-workers or sporting team members and come along.

There are three ways you can get involved:

- Join an existing site on the day
- Register and host a site of your own
- Make a donation

Inner West Council will support by collecting all the rubbish that is picked up by your team.

Join a Clean Up site

There are a number of sites around the local area.

Make a donation to Clean Up Australia

If you can’t join a Clean Up, you can choose to make a donation to Clean Up Australia.

100% of funds raised through donations are allocated to the provision of educational resources and clean up materials provided free of charge to community, school and youth groups across the nation, all year round.

Other ways to get involved

For other ways to get involved, eco-conscious Australians can now get in on the Clean Up action by shopping Clean Up Australia's Buy Recycled Collections which showcase products and packaging made from recycled content, extending the life of resources we have already used and reducing the need to extract new ones from our precious planet.
