Take back the streets and celebrate the creative energy of postcode 2044!

2044 Street Takeover highlights artists from St Peters, Tempe and Sydenham, famous for their gritty and eclectic mix of industry, art and community. May Street and May Lane in St Peters will be taken over by local bands, creative workshops, outdoor dining, roving performances and more.

Enjoy music by Lady Lyon, CINTA, The Kindness and Cocoa the Conscious, as well as bands from Tempe High and Tempe Public School. In between, you can join a workshop, whether it’s craft-making with Made by Me, developing photos using recycled materials with Darkroom Social, or creating artworks inspired by our urban surroundings and informed by your senses at Echoes of the City.

Otherwise, kick back, enjoy some local food and be entertained by the Sydney Trapeze School or your local (very lost and confused) clown, Curly Fernandez.

Please check back in soon for the full program!

Make sure you also check out Creative Trails Midjuburi, happening on the same weekend, 2 & 3 November, in Marrickville and surrounds!

The 2044 Street Takeover is funded by Transport for NSW under the Vibrant Streets Package – Open Streets Program, to inject vibrancy into our streets and help create thriving local places that support businesses, creative sectors, and the community through events and activations. The Program is one stream of the Vibrant Streets Package, an investment that will help transform our streets into more vibrant public spaces, with creative and cultural activations in the short term, and the trial of place management strategies to support sustainable activation in the long term.
