Inner West Council runs a range of regular school holiday programs for 12–18 year olds. Please refer  to the links below of programs that are available:

Inner West Council Spring 2017 School Holiday Program

Tuesday 26 Sep 1pm – 4pm
Ages 12–18

Mystery Movie #1 - BOOKED OUT!

  • Cost: Free
  • Venue: Meet a Hoyts Cinemas, Broadway Shopping Centre at 1pm

A mystery movie at Hoyts Cinemas, Broadway (rating TBC). Bring lunch or money to buy lunch. Start and finish times are subject to change (depending on cinema session times).

Wednesday 27 Sep 10:30am – 4pm
Ages 12–18

City Walk: Hyde Park to Pancake on the Rocks

  • Cost: $20
  • Venue: Meet at Leichhardt Town Hall to catch the Council bus at 10:30am

Come on an action packed city walk starting at the Hyde Park Barracks Museum, through the Botanical Gardens to the Opera House and stopping at the MCA., then finishing with lunch at Pancake on the Rocks.  Wear comfortable clothing.

Industrial Arts - BOOKED OUT!

  • Cost: Free
  • Venue: Leichhardt Town Hall, 107 Norton Street, Leichhardt

Learn how to print and take home your very own t-shirt, tote bag or tea towel with a unique design. Following this, create an expressive mini-magazine. All materials provided. Don’t miss your chance to learn from our very talented creative industrial artists. Lunch provided.

Sky Zone Trampolining – After Dark - BOOKED OUT!

  • Cost: TBC
  • Venue: Meet at Leichhardt Town Hall to catch the Council bus, 6pm

Trampolining at Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Arena at Alexandria. Socks must be worn for trampolining. Bring dinner or money to buy dinner.

Wet n' Wild - BOOKED OUT!

  • Cost: $30
  • Venue: Meet at Leichhardt Town Hall to catch the Council bus, 8:30am

Bring a hat, towel, swimmers, sunscreen and lunch or money to buy lunch. Only small food items such as homemade sandwiches and fruit can be brought into the venue.

Gaming Competition

  • Cost: Free
  • Venue: Headspace Ashfield, 260 Liverpool Road, Ashfield

Headspace Ashfield will be hosting a Gaming competition as an introduction to its Ashfield space. Come along for a fun day of gaming, food and an opportunity to come and meet the staff at Headspace Ashfield as well find out the services available for young people.

Thursday 5 Oct 9am – 1:30pm
Ages 12–18

Wild Plants and Café Food Extravaganza

  • Cost: $15
  • Venue: Meet at Leichhardt Town Hall at 9am or the Hannaford Centre at 9:30am to catch the Council bus

Learn about the most common species growing along the green belts and in parks and reserves at Callan Park. Discover ways to safely harvest from the urban 'wild' and enrich your diet with vitamins and minerals. Follow by a curated lunch at Egg of the Universe café. Wear comfortable clothing.

  • Venue: Meet at Event Cinemas, Burwood at 1pm

Registration, Consent and Further Information

  • Registrations essential and conditions, limits and fees apply
  • Concessions apply for eligible parents/guardians
  • Parents/guardians must complete the registration and consent form below to register, select activities and provide consent for their child
  • Once Council receives your registration and consent form, you will receive an email (within 1 business day, where possible) to advise whether your registration has been successful or whether you have been waitlisted
  • Information regarding payments and concessions is included in this email
  • Please pay in advance. Payments made on the day of the activity incur an additional $10 fee
  • All School Holiday Program activities are supervised by Inner West Council Council staff (Youth Workers)
  • Council staff will not wait longer than 15 minutes for late arrivals
  • Activities requiring transportation using Council's bus - participants will be transported from Leichhardt Town Hall to the activity location and then returned to Leichhardt Town Hall upon completion of the activity. For After Dark activities, participants living in the Leichhardt Ward or Balmain Ward of the Inner West Council Local Government Area may be dropped off home by the Council bus (see Inner West Council Local Government Area Ward Boundaries map). Participants living outside of these areas will be returned to Leichhardt Town Hall
  • Finish times for activities requiring transportation using Council's bus, are approximate times only for drop off at Leichhardt Town Hall
  • All School Holiday Program activities are subject to change
  • Outdoor activities are subject to environmental factors and may be postponed or cancelled at Council's discretion
  • Additional activity/venue specific forms may be required for some School Holiday Program activities. Where required, these forms will be emailed to parents/guardians
  • Participants are not permitted to leave a School Holiday Program activity until the completion of the activity unless consent outlining alternative arrangements is provided in writing by a parent/guardian
  • The information collected in the School Holiday Program registration and consent form is for Council use only. Council uses this information for the purpose of delivering and managing the School Holiday Program. This information is stored in a secure electronic record management system

Cancellations

  • To cancel a booking contact Council on 9367 9271
  • No shows and/or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, incur a fee (the full cost of the activity)
  • Cancellations with more than 24 hours notice do not incur a fee. Where a payment has been made, the payment is transferrable to another activity/person.

Yoga for teens

School, exams, little brothers and sisters, boy-troubles, girl-troubles, parents and social media are realities of being a teenager. No-matter what your skill level, teens can participate in an hour of yoga for the full body, focusing on deep stretches for relaxation and stress relief.
