Marrickville Festival returns for 2018

Friday, 12 October 2018

The Marrickville Festival will be held on Sunday, 21 October 2018, from 10am–5pm.

The event brings together the Inner West’s diverse and vibrant people, cultures and creative communities with a feast of international cuisine, live music and entertainment.

An expected 60,000 festival-goers can look forward to over 120 stalls displaying local produce, handmade artisan works and gifts, as well as a wealth of entertainment, including a Main Stage program, International Dance Floor, The Break music competition and a range of free activities for kids and the whole family.

The Main Stage lineup includes jazz funk collective Funk Engine and electro didgeridoo act Didgimatix, with rock steady reggae band, King Tide, headlining.

The Break Stage features a competition celebrating young local performers, with winners announced at 3:25pm.

The International Stage will see a number of cultures represented, from Polynesian and Flamenco dancers, to the drummers of Papa Mbaye and Chosani Afrique.

The Kids' Play Park showcases pint sized talent from local martial arts academies and dance schools, as well as storytelling and a break dancing demonstration.
