Inner West Council remains firm on WestConnex “The position of the new Inner West Council on the WestConnex project has not and will not change. “It is clear the Inner West community is strongly opposed to the project. “The previous Ashfield, Leichhardt and Marrickville Councils made many submissions and representations to the State Government and firmly established our opposition to this road project. “As Administrator of the new Inner West Council I will continue to represent that position to the State Government and ensure the very legitimate concerns of our residents are heard. “We are now a combined voice of 185,000 strong across the Inner West. “My State Government experience has given me the contacts and experience to make sure that very strong voice is heard in the right places in Macquarie Street. “Make no mistake, the State Government has heard and will continue to hear our concerns about WestConnex.” Richard Pearson Administrator, Inner West Council
